SUMMARY:GHS Dual Credit Registration
DESCRIPTION:Granbury High School will be hosting two evenings for students to register for dual credit classes in the 2017-18 school year. The sessions will be held 5:00-7:00 P.M. on April 25 and 27\, 2017\, in the GHS cafeteria and Learning Commons. On hand to provide assistance will be representatives from Weatherford College\, GHS counselors\, and GHS dual credit teachers.\n\n \n\nStudents and a parent or guardian must attend one of the evening meetings and bring a pen along with the student's Social Security number. The sessions are come-and-go\, and it will take approximately 40 minutes in order to complete all necessary paperwork.\n\n \n\nDual credit courses offer opportunities for GHS students to receive both high school and college credit. There will be several courses available next school year: algebra\, biology\, British literature\, contemporary math\, economics\, English\, technical writing\, U.S. government\, and U.S. history.\n\n \n\n"Enrolling in dual credit courses while still in high school provides several benefits\," said GHS principal Jeremy Ross. "Students get a head start on college course work and have a better opportunity to obtain an associate's degree in less time. The courses also prepare students for college-level work before they leave home in order to be successful in real college settings."
