DESCRIPTION:Guest artists\, ensemble performances\, senior recitals and the annual Choral Masterworks Concert highlight this fall's musical lineup for Tarleton State University's Department of Fine Arts.\n\n \n\nGuest artist Dr. Hope Thacker\, mezzo-soprano\, kicks off the fall season with a special performance at 7:30 p.m. Monday\, Oct. 2\, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Theater on the Stephenville campus\, and Russian-born cellist Yuri Anshelevich takes the stage Monday\, Oct. 23.\n\n \n\nAssistant professor of music and voice at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi\, Thacker made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2013 and is recipient of several awards and honors from the National Association of Teachers of Singers. Anshelevich recently retired as former associate principal cellist for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He often performs with the same cello he purchased (with the help of his father) while still a student in the 1950s.
