DESCRIPTION:The community leaders of the Veterans Day Committee are hosting a special commemoration of Veterans Day at 11:00 AM on Saturday\, November 10\, 2018 at the High School Auditorium (2000 West Pearl Street). The program will feature a keynote presentation by special guest speaker\, Robin Greer\, MA-U.S. Navy 2nd Class Petty Officer. Music will be provided by the Acton Middle School Mixed Choir. Those unable to attend the ceremony in person can watch live online. Click HERE to watch the livestream video.\n\n\n\nThe committee has been collaborating with schools in Hood County on a essay contest "What Veterans Day Means to Me\," the contest winners will be announced at the ceremony. Please click HERE to view program.\n\n\n\nFollowing this special recognition of our veterans\, a parade will be held at 2:00 PM.\n\n\n\nPlease come and join us in  "Honoring America's Veterans"\n\n	All entries must submit an application/entry form (deadline 11/5/18).\n	All entries must be decorated to fit the parade's theme "Honoring America's Veterans" and any music must be patriotic in nature.\n	Parade staging begins at 1:00 PM in the parking lot of the GISD Administration Building Parking Lot ( 600 West Pearl Street).\n	Only one entry per commercial entity\, household\, or organization. All vehicles must have proof of insurance.\n\nThe parade will travel down Pearl Street\, around the Square\, and back up Bridge Street to the Administration Building parking lot.
