A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time tested, 2,000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus, with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville. It tells the story of a crafty slave named Pseudolus and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master, Hero, woo Philia, the courtesan next door. However, things are never as easy as they seem, as chaos ensues with harebrained schemes, cases of mistaken identity and convoluted plot twists.
