"Great American Eclipse Watch Party" on April 8, 2024 at Acton Nature Center

The Acton Nature Center is hosting the "Great American Eclipse Watch Party," on April 8, 2024, from noon to 3:00 p.m.

This is a free, family-friendly public event. There will be children's learning activities and an "Eclipse Folklore" presentation by Native American Audricka Crystal Young.

Beginning at noon, local amateur astronomers will have their special filtered telescopes focused on the sun and ready for YOU to take a peek as the moon's shadow darkens the sun and blocks light to Earth.

PARKING at Acton Baptist and Acton Methodist Churches is available. Parking shuttles are available.
Handicap accessible shuttle available from10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sponsored by DFW Spectrum, LLC

Solar glasses will be provided at the event.

This collaborative event is hosted by Acton Nature Center, Hood County Amateur Astronomers, and the Rio Brazos Chapter of Texas Master Naturalist.
