Happily Ever Laughter

Granbury Theatre Company has scheduled two special events for Valentine’s Day weekend on February 12-14, 2016, at the historic Granbury Opera House in Downtown Granbury.  The events also include an optional dinner package at Christina’s Bistro on the square.
 
On February 12-13, Carey and Dena Dyer will present “Happily Ever Laughter” at 7:30 P.M. each evening.  Couples young and old are sure to be entertained and encouraged by this evening of comedy, storytelling, and chart-topping love songs from decades past.
 
"Happily Ever Laughter" has been twenty years in the making. Carey and Dena are celebrating their 20th year of marriage with a variety show that’s both hilarious and poignant.  From their first fight right after the wedding (seriously) to the date night they’d both like to forget, the Dyers honestly portray the ups and downs of romance.


Carey, a Tennessee boy, and Dena, a Texas native, met in a touring group that performed in 46 states. Twenty-two years later, their credits include singing for President George H.W. Bush and starring as lead performers in a variety of professional live music theaters. In addition, Dena has enjoyed a successful career as a published author and speaker. The Dyers have loved raising their two boys in Granbury, where Carey also leads the music at Lakeside Baptist Church. They are looking forward to their first book together, Love at First Fight (a humorous marriage devotional book for couples), which will release in September with Barbour Publishing.
 
For Sunday, February 14, GTC will present the classic love story An Affair to Remember, a 1957 film starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.  The motion picture directed by Leo McCarey is considered one of the most romantic movies of all times, according to the American Film Institute.  Showtime that evening will be at 7:30 P.M.  (see Event Calendar for details.)
 
For “Happily Ever Laughter,” tickets are available for $30 in prime seating and $25 in standard seating.  Discounted prices are available for senior citizens, students, and children.  

Packages for a three-course dinner at Christina’s are available with each ticket for an additional $30.  Featured entrees are prime rib, parmesan crusted salmon, brie and pecan chicken, and lobster roll.
