FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 25, 2020 GRANBURY, TX ? Due to surging COVID-19 rates in Texas, a joint decision by Hood County, the City of Granbury, and the Granbury Chamber of Commerce has been made to cancel the July 4th parade. The safety and welfare of the citizens of Hood County, combined with Governor Abbott?s recent proclamation and emergency rules on outdoor gatherings of over 100 people, prompted the difficult joint decision to cancel the parade portion of the festivities. Starting Friday at noon, through Saturday evening, local Hood County merchants, artisans and food/beverage vendors will fill pop-up vendor spaces on the Granbury Square. All vendors will be Hood County owned and operated, for-profit businesses. 95.5 K-HITS presents ?Limelight? for the Friday evening concert on the square. Saturday evening, around 9:45PM, Extreme Pyrotechnics will once again display their amazing show that may be seen in a large portion of the County. The Granbury Chamber of Commerce thanks the following sponsors: H-E-B, Visit Granbury, City of Granbury, Hood County, Exelon, First Financial Bank, Lake Granbury Medical Center, Lakeside Physicians, Cheerful Heart Gifts & Boutique, Taco Casa, LA Services, Vintage Floors, Streeter Electric, A+ Roofing & Construction, and Quail Park. Participants in all of the July 4th activities are encouraged to follow social distancing and health guidelines provided in the ?Open Texas Checklist?, produced by The Governor?s Strike Force to Open Texas.
