Labor Market Economist, Rich Froeschle, will present “The Intersection Between Educational Alignment and Workforce Needs”. There is a growing interest and resolve by government and educational institutions to better align program offerings and curricular content with the knowledge and skills most in demand by the business community. But the path to alignment is complicated by a host of issues ranging from institutional inflexibility and limited understanding of regional labor market demand, to political will and legitimate questions about the role of education in American Society. This session brings many of these issues to the surface and offers a Roadmap to Alignment for those dedicated to the task of bringing key stakeholders together to improve the relevance of higher education offerings to regional labor market demand. Faculty, staff, administration and community members are invited to attend.
