The public is invited to a kickoff reception for the year-long celebration of Weatherford College's sesquicentennial from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday, January 17, in Texas Hall of the Alkek Fine Arts Center.
The event will include a historic photo show, Chamber ribbon cutting, food, music, tours, giveaways and the launch of Jon Vandagriff’s book “Weatherford College: The First 150 Years.”
Events for the 150th celebration have been a work in progress for more than a year thanks to the collaborative efforts of a committee of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community partners spearheaded by Katie Edwards, WC’s director of creative and graphic services.
Other upcoming sesquicentennial events include the Spring Student WC Birthday Party on Jan. 28, WC Basketball Reunion and Family Night on Feb. 16, and the Coyote Family Picnic on March 23. Visit WC150.com for more information on these and the many other events scheduled for 2019.
