In celebration of WC's sesquicentennial year\, the Weatherford College Foundation has announced the Bell Ringers' Ball will be held at the Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth on Saturday\, Nov. 9.\n\n\n\n"The first Bell Ringers' Ball was held 25 years ago\, during the college's 125th anniversary year\, also at Ridglea Country Club\," said Brent Baker\, vice president of institutional advancement. "We thought returning to Ridglea would be a wonderful way to celebrate our history and look forward to a very bright future."\n\n\n\nThe black-tie optional event will feature a tremendous meal\, cocktails\, a silent auction and several surprises for WC's donors\, alumni\, employees and friends.\n\n\n\nSeveral musicians with WC ties will entertain guests including alumnus Fredrick Sanders\, who has performed and recorded with the likes of Wynton Marsalis\, Doctor John\, Eryka Badu and Norah Jones\; Dr. Hyeyoung Song\, WC's master pianist\; and several of the college's top current music students.\n\n\n\n"Obviously\, we don't hold galas very often\, every 25 years to be exact\," said Bob Glenn\, WC Foundation president. "This is a special year for a special college\, and we are excited to cap off our sesquicentennial year with an event to remember."\n\n\n\nPatrons will also have the chance to select which foundation/college project their ticket contribution will benefit\, with a menu of options including the area of greatest need\, scholarships\, the student emergency fund\, the All-Steinway Initiative\, agriculture\, athletics\, etc.\n\n\n\n"This is a comprehensive college and our foundation funds a number of great projects\," Baker said. "We are giving our donors the chance to decide how their money is spent\, an approach that we think is unique."\n\n\n\nTo continue the 150th theme\, tickets are $150 per person and $1\,500 per table of 10.
