Retail Archery Technician & Sales Associate

The Retail Archery Technician & Sales Associate provides expert knowledge and technical services for archery equipment while delivering outstanding customer service across the store. This role is responsible for bow setup, tuning, and repair, assisting customers in selecting archery and outdoor products, and supporting general retail sales. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude in archery, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping customers succeed in their sport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers, providing knowledgeable recommendations on archery gear, accessories, and related outdoor equipment.
  • Perform bow and crossbow setup, tuning, adjustments, and repairs (string replacement, sight installation, cam timing, draw weight/length adjustments, etc.).
  • Maintain and organize the archery workbench, tools, and supplies to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Educate customers on proper equipment use, safety, and maintenance.
  • Assist with sales across other departments (firearms, hunting, fishing, camping, apparel, etc.) as needed.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for purchases, returns, and exchanges.
  • Stock shelves, price merchandise, and maintain a clean, well-organized sales floor.
  • Participate in product training and stay current on new archery technologies and outdoor gear trends.
  • Support store promotions, special events, and customer engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in archery equipment service/repair preferred; retail or customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of bows, crossbows, arrows, sights, rests, releases, broadheads, and related accessories.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use bow presses, fletching jigs, and other archery tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
