Hood County COVID-19 Interim Update – 4-5-2021 10AM

This is an update based on numbers from reports received from our testing locations on positive cases in the community to DSHS for Hood County.
DSHS Reports a total of 6420 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in Hood County residents. (There have been 18 New Cases reported for April as of today) (64 Active Cases)
We are at 123 COVID-19 positive deaths reported by DSHS for Hood County residents. ( 1 new deaths since the last update)
We have tested a total of 55,244 citizens in Hood County.
Our TSA Regional Hospital Rate as of 04/03/2021 is 3.38% - 11.62% under the 15% threshold required by the state.
2 currently reported hospitalizations, all other active cases have been directed to self-isolate at home.

Hood County is currently at MODERATE risk of COVID-19 transmission. 
Continued efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other influenza-like illnesses as we enter flu season will continue to keep our community active at work and school. CDC community mitigation strategy guidelines are found below.

I encourage our community to continue to follow CDC and TX DSHS guidelines found on their websites, including social distancing, mask use if social distancing is not possible, handwashing and disinfecting surfaces, and immunization against COVID-19 and influenza.
