Hood County COVID-19 Interim Update – 7/20/2021 3pm

This is an update based on numbers and concerns from reports received on positive cases in the community from DSHS for Hood County.
 
There are 101 New Active Cases reported as of today. Since July 5, 2021, Hood County has seen a 13% percent increase on cases.
 
We are at 136 COVID-19 positive deaths reported by DSHS for Hood County residents. ( 7 new deaths since May 15th)
 
We have tested a total of 66,474  citizens in Hood County.
 
Our TSA Regional Hospital Rate as of today is 11.49% an overall increase of 9.99% since May 15th. (3.51% under the 15% threshold required by the state.)
 
13 currently reported hospitalizations, all other active cases have been directed to self-isolate at home.
 
 
Hood County is currently at a SUBSTANTIAL  risk of COVID-19 transmission as of July 20, 2021.
 
The local Public Health Authority, In accordance with CDC and Texas DSHS recommendations encourages vaccination by everyone eligible including teens 12 and older. Mask wearing by individuals who have not been completely vaccinated against COVID-19, including children over the age of 2, and continues to encourage social distancing as well.
