They’re common cries for help from businesses across Hood County:
"We're having a tough time hiring people."
"We hire someone and they leave in a few weeks."
"How can I compete with the salary that larger employers can offer?"

To assist our small businesses, the Granbury Chamber presents “Wage Wars: Creative Solutions for Hiring” – a workshop designed with tangible tools to help businesses fill employee gaps.
“As a community, we need to have a discussion about recruiting employees, keeping employees, paying employees, and whether our businesses are in food service, financial service, retail or any other category, there is a need to have a proactive strategy about employment right now. The Chamber will help facilitate that dialogue,” shares Brian Bondy, President and CEO of the Granbury Chamber of Commerce.
The public is invited to hear from a panel of local workforce experts who share their strategies in connecting employers with employees and keeping that relationship strong:
Adam Kern- Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas
Aaron Grant - Chick-fil-a Granbury
Katy Offut - Forward Training Center of Hood County
Mckena Harless - Daffan Cooling & Heating
Pam Hoke - Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Tarleton State University
“Wage Wars: A Creative Solution to Hiring” is scheduled for September 2nd, from 8:30-10:00 AM at the United Co-Op Community Room, located at 320 Fall Creek Highway in Granbury, TX. Registered attendees can interact with the panelists, asking questions designed to help their personal hiring strategies. Due to the topic of the workshop, a hybrid option is available for those businesses who need to utilize zoom. Registered online attendees will also be able to address the panel.
