Veterans Day Celebration
The community leaders of the Veterans Day Committee are hosting a special commemoration of Veterans Day at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the High School Auditorium (2000 West Pearl Street). The program will feature a keynote presentation by special guest speaker, Robin Greer, MA-U.S. Navy 2nd Class Petty Officer. Music will be provided by the Acton Middle School Mixed Choir. The committee has been collaborating with schools in Hood County on a essay contest "What Veterans Day Means to Me," the contest winners will be announced at the ceremony. Please click HERE to view program.
Following this special recognition of our veterans, a parade will be held at 2:00 PM.
Please come and join us in "Honoring America's Veterans"
- All entries must submit an application/entry form (deadline 11/5/18).
- All entries must be decorated to fit the parade's theme "Honoring America's Veterans" and any music must be patriotic in nature.
- Parade staging begins at 1:00 PM in the parking lot of the GISD Administration Building Parking Lot ( 600 West Pearl Street).
- Only one entry per commercial entity, household, or organization. All vehicles must have proof of insurance.
